A funeral mass was celebrated Dec. 15 at St. Ann’s R.C. Church in Hoboken for Giovanni Forte, 78. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Dec. 11 at Hoboken University Medical Center. A retired machinist for Sier-Bath Inc. in North Bergen, he was employed there for more than 25 years. Giovanni was born in Naples, Italy and arrived in Hoboken in 1968 and later became a citizen of the United States. He was a member of the Juventus Club in Hoboken. Surviving is his wife of more than 50 years, Immacolata Coppola Forte; four daughters, Anna Raguseo, Elana Simonetti, Rita Forte, and Giulia Miller; three sons-in-law Giacomo, Ciro, and Edward; three brothers, Carmelo, Vincenzo, and Antonino; and two sisters, Maria Fresa and Rosa Moschella. He was grandfather to Silvia, Mauro, Michael, Jonathan, Victoria, Anthony, Tonia, and Fabiola; and an uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Giovanni was predeceased by a brother Raffaele and a sister Lucia Esposito. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
