A Mass of Christian Burial was held Oct. 15 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Hoboken, for Jose Ortiz, 81, of Jersey City, formerly of Hoboken. He died Oct. 11. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War, and was a driver and assistant for Laidlaw Bus Co. of Jersey City for many years, retiring in 2009. He was the companion of Felicita Valle; the father of Angela Ortiz, Maria Guzman, and Javier Ferrer; the grandfather of Jose and Jessica Garcia; and the great-grandfather of Jazy and Jasmine Brown.
