Voter Registration Drive a success

Dear Editor:
On behalf of the Hoboken Democratic Party (HDP), I wish to thank and congratulate everyone participating in our first Voter Registration Drive at last Saturday’s Arts & Music Festival in Hoboken. With only a table, tent, and a few clipboards and pens, we were able to register 81 individuals, mostly new residents to Hoboken.
To all of those who registered to vote last week, on behalf of the HDP, welcome to this important aspect of civic life in Hoboken. I encourage you to learn more about the Democratic Party and become active in helping us advance the priorities and values that will bring our country forward. I hope you will also take the opportunity vote during the Nov. 2 elections, and urge you to cast your vote the Democratic line, Column B, Albio Sires for United States Congress and Frank X. Schillari for Hudson County Sheriff.
I would like to extend my thanks and gratitude to all those who took time out of their busy schedules for this effort, starting with Co-Chairs of the HDP’s Voter Registration Committee, Ines Garcia-Keim and Gretchen Brigden. Assemblyman Ruben Ramos should also be thanked for his assistance, as well as many other volunteers, including Committee Vice Presidents LaTrenda Ross and Ilise Benun, and Democratic Committeepersons Joseph Branco, Ricky Mason, Jason Maurer, Gary Holtzman and Rami Pinchevsky.
If you are not registered to vote, it is never too late. You can go to www.njelections.org and download a voter registration form. Thank you again to everyone who helped make this effort a success, and I look forward to future voter registration efforts in the coming months.

Ravi S. Bhalla
Chairman
