Bayonne hopes to keep taxes flat

BAYONNE — Bayonne City Business Administrator Terrence Malloy said that February tax bills will show no increase from bills issued last year.
“We’re hoping we can send out flat tax bills in May,” he said.
The city is expected to introduce a budget that is about $122 million this month. Last year, the budget rose by 4.5 percent over the year before.
If municipal, school and county taxes remain unchanged, the an owner of a home valued at $133,000 will pay $8,237 during the current fiscal year, including school and county tax. AS
