HOBOKEN — Entertainment Weekly reports that embattled Hoboken comedian Artie Lange has not been asked to leave the popular Howard Stern radio show after he attempted to stab himself to death last weekend.
In related news, police told the Hoboken Reporter Friday that they did not report seeing any illicit drugs in Lange’s house when they went to his condo on Jan. 2 following a 911 call, but they did find perscription drugs. The information appears in this weekend’s Police Beat in the Hoboken news section of www.hudsonreporter.com.
Lange’s mother called 911 on Saturday after she went to bring him food and found him unconscious bleeding on the floor, police told the Hoboken Reporter. He was taken to Jersey City Medical Center and treated for nine stab wounds. Police found a 13-inch Wolfgang Puck kitchen knife used to inflict the wounds.
However, Lange was out of the hospital as of Friday, according to published reports.

Contrary to a report on the Web yesterday suggesting that Howard Stern sidekick Artie Lange is marked for a pink slip after his Jan. 2 suicide attempt, a news report airing on Sirius XM’s Howard 100 and Howard 101 channels states that Lange still has a home at the satellite radio provider. “The Peter Hilton report is absolutely false,” Tim Sabean, Senior Vice President of Sirius’ Howard Stern channels, says in a statement that began airing last night and will continue throughout the weekend. “Artie is very much a part of these channels, and we look forward to Artie’s fast recovery and we wish him all the best.”
Stern himself, who is usually open about his personal life, reportedly complained on the air about someone leaking the suicide details to the New York Post.
The comedian, 42, lives in Hoboken’s luxury Shipyard Development Complex.
