A funeral mass was celebrated Oct. 3 at St. Lawrence R.C. Church for John “Jackie” Mc Bride, 76. He passed away on Sept. 29 at home. Born in Jersey City, he was a retired dock worker for Halls Motor Freight, Jersey City. John was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean conflict, and a professional boxer. He was the husband of the late Eileen; the father of David and the late Dolores Mc Bride; the father-in-law of Debbie; the brother of Bernadette Zory and Frances Varianka; the grandfather of Sean, and the uncle of many nieces and nephews.
