Leapfrog Hospital Rewards Program

Earl R. Lewis (center), hospital account executive at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (BCBSNJ), presents a $52,790 check to Peter Kelly, President and CEO of Christ Hospital in Jersey City, and Deborah Gandy, Director of Performance Improvement, in recognition of the hospital’s outstanding performance improvement activity for the past year through the Leapfrog Hospital Rewards Program. Hospitals participating in the Leapfrog Hospital Rewards Program commit to provide high quality, safe health care and to improve their performance on critical aspects of patient care. Within this program, hospitals in the Horizon BCBSNJ network have the option to participate via the Leapfrog Hospital Rewards Program or a similar option created by Horizon BCBSNJ. The Leapfrog Hospital Rewards Program is a nationally standardized way to assess the value of patient care by measuring performance along two dimensions- the quality of the care hospitals provide and how efficiently they deliver it.
