‘We are proud of you, Coach Conway’

To the Editor:
Holy Family Academy celebrates a great coach and an outstanding mentor in saluting Coach Paul Conway, who was elected earlier this year to the Hudson County Hall of Fame. After a successful quest for the 1965 state basketball championship for St. Michael’s High School, Coach Conway came to HFA to take over the tennis program. Leading his squad to an amazing 261 wins in his 18 years, Coach Conway made a name for himself and for his team. Years later, he returned to help the team get back on track again.
What is most important, however, is that Coach Conway was not only a winning coach – he was a gentleman and a fatherly mentor to his players and to the whole school community. He taught by example; he taught life lessons as well as backhands and serves. He helped his players improve their game and make wise choices for their futures.
We are proud of you, Coach Conway, and grateful for whom you have been to us in our history. God bless you and God bless the Falcons!
