Nine officially filed to run for NJ gov

The deadline to file to run for governor of New Jersey was Monday – sorry if you missed it! There will be a primary June 2 and then a general election in November. Virginia is the only other state that will have a gubernatorial race this year.
Besides Democrat Jon Corzine of Hoboken and Republican Chris Christie of Mendham, there are seven other contenders for the top spot.
According to the Associated Press, “The Democrats are … Roger Bacon of Phillipsburg; Carl A. Bergmanson of Glen Ridge; and Jeff Boss of Guttenberg.
“Republicans include … Steven M. Lonegan of Bogota; David Brown of South Brunswick; Brian D. Levine of Somerset; and Rick Merkt of Mendham.”
