A pair of homicides hit JC; makes seven so far this year

This past week, Jersey City was rocked by two murders, bringing the total homicides in that city this year to seven.
A Jersey City man was killed late Wednesday night in an incident that Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio described as “personally motivated.”
DeFazio said Ormont Logan, 26, of Bayview Avenue, was shot multiple times on Clendenny Avenue at West Side Avenue shortly before midnight Wednesday after arguing with another man over a woman.
DeFazio said he was pronounced dead at the Jersey City Medical Center at 12:45 a.m. Thursday morning.
DeFazio said the allegedly shooter, Darryl “D” Denmark, 21, of Orient Avenue (seen in photo) allegedly fled the murder scene with a semiautomatic pistol. DeFazio said Denmark is at large, and is considered armed and dangerous.
Also, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is still investigating the death of a Jersey City man last Saturday, March 28 after he was shot dead execution-style while walking along Summit Avenue.
DeFazio said Antwan Baisden was shot twice around 3 a.m. as he was on his way to his home on Astor Place.
Anyone with information on both homicides should contact the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Division at (201) 915-1345.
