Hudson County courts to take furlough

Hudson County Court will be fully closed on May 22 and June 29.
Notices are being given to all judiciary employees this week as well as being posted on judiciary bulletin board.
“There is a possibility that some judges may be required to report to work in their chambers,” said Freeholder Bill O’Dea.
If they elect to not voluntarily participate in the furlough (they cannot be required to participate based on a NJ Constitutional provision), then the county will treat it like a Saturday and advise the Sheriff at the 24 hour entrance that they will be in the building. No other arrangements will be needed.
