Tree falls on occupied car

A tree fell across First Street between Park and Willow Avenues in Hoboken on March 30, striking a parked car outside of the M & C Chi Spa right before 6 p.m. Two women, one of whom was the owner of the spa, were inside the vehicle when the tree struck, witnesses said.
Robert Casales helped one of the women out of the car as first responders arrived at the scene.
“She was very confused,” Casales said. “She didn’t know what was happening.”
After clearing away branches, Casales said he was able to free the women from the parked vehicle.
As of 6:30 p.m., city workers were on scene clearing the debris. Minimal damage was done to the vehicle. — Sean Allocca
