LEOGRANDE, STEPHEN A

A funeral mass was offered on March 26 at St. Ann’s R.C. Church for Stephen A. Leogrande, 95, known by all as “Stevie the Barber,” formerly of Hoboken. He passed away March 22 at his Bayville residence. He was born in Waterbury, Conn., and lived most of his life in Hoboken before moving to Secaucus and in 1990 to Bayville. He was a retired barber who worked for 65 years at Augie’s Barber Shop on 4th and Madison Streets in Hoboken. He was the Secretary/Treasurer for the Barber’s International Union Local 381 for many years. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Francesca “Frances” Leogrande; his son Joseph Leogrande, his daughter Kathleen DeFazio and her husband Tommy. He is also survived by his grandchildren Guy, Francine, Craig, Steven, and Genine and 10 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sisters Eugiena Petronello and Jenny DeSomma.
