Support these three women for school board

Dear Editor:
I am writing to seek support for my very good friend Maureen Sullivan, my new friend Ruth McAllister and current Board Member Theresa Minutillo (who I have recently come to know and appreciate) in their run for the Board of Education!
Having been born and raised in Hoboken, I have volunteered most of my life…as many in Hoboken do. Most recently I was an original member of the Hoboken Family Alliance and served as their Community Liaison for over seven years. I have three boys, all in Public School, where I have been active since the day they started over seven years ago. I was a member of the Calabro PTO and am currently a member of the Wallace PTO as well as the Wallace School Leadership Committee. I have recently begun to volunteer at Hoboken High School to arrange tours so the community at large can see the wonderful programs available there and meet the hard working staff and students.
Over the years I have had the honor and privilege to work with many involved and committed Public School parents, who work selflessly for all the children in the District. It excites me to think that two of these wonderful, committed parents would have seats on the Board of Education, giving a voice to all District parents. Maureen and Ruth, with children in Connors and Wallace, understand the issues important to all the children and parents in the District: curriculum, test scores, parental input, supporting the teachers and ensuring the success of ongoing programs. I believe they will continue to promote open communication and stand up for fair and equal educational opportunities for all the children in the District!
I am very grateful to Theresa Minutillo who many times asks the questions at public meetings that we the parents want to know the answers to. It may take a few minutes longer but I appreciate her allowing the parents to be part of the conversation.
Please join me in my support for Kids First on Election Day April 21st!

Yours truly
Irene Korman Sobolov
