Dear Editor:
On behalf of the Jubilee Center Board of Trustees and staff and the over 70 children that attend the Center every day, I would like to thank the leadership and members of HoHa (Hoboken Harriers Running Club) and the Hoboken Elks Club for holding the13th annual charity Snow Ball event on Friday evening, February 6th. The proceeds from the event are donated to United Cerebral Palsy of Hudson County and the Jubilee Center.
The Jubilee Center offers an after school program for children in grades K-6 from public housing. We provide help with homework, individual tutoring and activities such as dance, cooking, etc., field trips and also an evening meal for the children. As one of the children recently said, “Without the Jubilee Center, I don’t know where I would be.”
The Center relies on the generous donations of the citizens of Hoboken to continue operating. In addition to the Snow Ball event, HoHa Classic, scheduled for May 17th this year, as a way to raise money and awareness for the Jubilee Center. That support is also very much appreciated.
Thanks to all the HoHa members and all those who attended the Snow Ball event.
Sincerely,
Laurence B. Henriques
Chairman, Board of Trustees
