Woman says ‘friends’ kidnapped her, left her in snow

A North Bergen resident claims that three female friends lured her into a vehicle under the pretense of attending a party on Jan. 16, and instead left her stranded in single-digit weather far from home.
According to North Bergen Detective Bureau Commander Lt. Frank Cannella, the victim told police four days after the incident that her friends had told her to get “dressed up,” but when she got into the vehicle, she noticed they were dressed casually.
Her friends then allegedly drove north on Route 9W close to the New York state border, stopped the vehicle, and forced her out into the cold.
She lost her shoe and suffered severe frostbite, said Cannella. He said after several hours, she was able to flag down a car and was driven to Englewood Hospital.
Cannella said the incident stems from an ongoing lawsuit with one of the suspects’ insurance company, stemming from a car accident from a few years ago.
All of the suspects have been arrested.
