Celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dear Editor:
Create Charter Middle and High School is proud to announce that we are celebrating our Annual Dr. Martin Luther King’s Day Program on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 10 a.m.
We are even more proud to have as our Speaker, the Honorable Kabili Tayari, the Deputy Mayor of our great City of Jersey City and a member of the Honorable Mayor Jerramiah Healy’s team of public officials who appointed him to the position.
Here at Create Charter Middle and High School we have always maintained the position of bringing local heroes and role models to the educational offerings at our school in order to have our young people see and interact with the proper kinds of role models such as Deputy Mayor Tayari as opposed to the media created personalities with a long history of dysfunctional behavior.
Deputy Mayor Tayari has a long history of social and cultural involvement dating back to the civil and social rights revolution which was spearheaded by Dr. King, and we expect that his message and the question and answer period will update our student’s knowledge of how important it is in getting the best education possible. His other involvements include being the President of the Jersey City Chapter of the NAACP, one of the oldest and most effective social and civil rights organizations in the world.
