Serious situation on the 125 bus line

Dear Editor:

Recently when public bus service was threatened with severe cutbacks in Jersey City their local Mayor Healy came through big time and saved the day for those residents of his community who rely on readily available bus service to get them around.

Therefore why is it that Union City Mayor Stack continues to portray an ostrich in hiding when it comes to the continued deterioration of public bus service on the N.J. Transit 125 line which many Union City and other North Hudson residents depend on to get into and out of midtown Manhattan.

We now have a serious situation where during the weekday evening rush hour the 125 bus only runs once every 40 minutes.

This is absolutely unacceptable and it severely places our current mayor’s supposed commitment to attempt to bring in more consumers to our community to provide a much needed shot in the arm to our long suffering merchants on Summit Ave.

I personally made a sincere attempt last year to contact someone from Mr. Stack’s assembly office on this urgent matter, all to no avail. What is his excuse on this important issue now that he finds himself in the State Senate?

I strongly urge each and every regular commuter of the 125 bus line who lives inside or outside of Union City to please help place Mr. Stack’s feet to the pedal on this continuing situation which must be reversed before it’s too late.
