Inside the Ring Hogan Knows Injuries

Hulk Hogan recently suffered a knee injury, which threw the WWE for a loop. With all the promotion that went into the Hogan vs. Randy Orton match-up, the WWE could not afford to lose Hogan. Suffering from a torn meniscus, Hulk Hogan has decided to tough it out and wrestle the match.Word backstage is that Hogan was just grandstanding and that there is no actual injury to speak of. A couple of years ago, Hogan used the same excuse to get out of a Jeff Jarrett/Hogan feud in TNA. The WWE thought he was pulling the same deal, but in the end Hogan will wrestle at Summerslam.

Jeff Hardy is back with the WWE. After being shelved by TNA for the last 4 months of his deal, Hardy has reportedly signed a multi-year contract. Look for Hardy to be reunited with his brother upon return. Also look for him to fail miserably in the WWE. With their new drug-testing program, there is no way he will keep clean in my opinion. Hardy couldn’t even make all his PPV’s at TNA. Bill Goldberg was offered his first official contract with TNA this past week. It has been said that he turned it down on the spot, not liking the money aspect of the deal. Look for TNA to pursue this longer. Having Goldberg on board in the next six months will be key.

TNA is about to move to a two-hour format. Spike TV has been in negotiations with TNA to put them an extra hour in the next couple of months. For now, it seems Spike will run a special two-hour show in a couple weeks when Raw is pre-empted for the U.S. Open of Tennis.

Shawn Michaels is unhappy doing the new DX gimmick. Look for the group to break up sooner rather then later. Initially, the plan was to do a DX/NWO feud, but the WWE could not secure any of the old members of the NWO other then Hulk Hogan. Scott Steiner was available before he signed with TNA but reportedly did not like his time with the WWE and did not want to go back.

ECW is about to be controlled by Paul Heyman again, according to sources. Vince McMahon was heading the project, but backstage sources say that he no longer wants control. This is a great sign for ECW. The brand was being influenced too much by the WWE.

Did anyone watch Raw a couple weeks ago when Edge speared Trish Stratus? Well, in the beginning of the show he goes to spear her and misses…then in the match later he spears her, then acted like it was an accident and showed remorse. That is terrible writing. But who notices these things?

Lita is supposedly going to walk away from the WWE when her contract runs up in a couple months. She will join the list of Trish Stratus and Stacey Keibler of recently departing WWE Divas. At least there are the Diva Contestants to pick from. Couldn’t you just read the sarcasm there?

John Cena continues to get boos all across the country and the WWE does not know why. The Sixshooter can easily tell them what is going wrong if they want to listen. He used to rap and was funny. Now he is totally unlike his original character that all WWE fans loved. Stop changing what works.

TNA is very pleased with Kevin Nash, Sting, and Scott Steiner. Management believes investing money in these older veterans has paid off. They have shown backstage they are willing to put other guys over in matches and have had good attitudes.

John Cena’s “The Marine,” will be coming out to theatres on Oct. 13. My prediction is that the film will do better than “See No Evil,” but not much better. You can check out the trailer over at Yahoo Movies.

Look for the WWE to push Carlito to the moon over the next several months according to sources. Vince McMahon loves his in-ring work and his mic skills. Carlito is a big feud away from being a big player with the WWE. Hopefully that feud will not end up being with the career killer, otherwise known as HHH.

Well that is all for this month folks. Remember as Ric Flair always says, “To be the man you have to beat the man…and folks I am that man.” Check me out on the web daily over at http://mattygslife.blogspot.com. We update often and would love to hear from you.
