Dear Editor:
With the imminent closing of the Majestic Dog Run in April, once again there will be no dog runs in Downtown Jersey City.
Mayor Schundler has supported the building of a dog run in Liberty State Park, and Councilman Vega has also said that Downtown needs dog runs. My question is: Why hasn’t anything been done? Is it that hard to fence in a vacant lot, lay down some gravel, and stick a garbage can and a bench in it? Would people rather look at a trash-strewn lot than a place where law-abiding people can gather and exercise their dogs?
If nothing is done soon, dog owners will again be left holding the bag.
