JERSEY CITY AND BEYOND — Jerryfen Arcentales, a 47-year-old uterine cancer patient being treated at New York’s St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital, won a weekend trip to Atlantic City with her husband Rick. The trip was awarded by Laura Journeys, a support program for cancer patients at hospitals affiliated with the Continuum Health Partners network. The program, designed to encourage and facilitate recreational travel among cancer patients, was created by Aberdeen, N.J. resident Bill Parness whose wife died of breast cancer. The winners were drawn randomly in a raffle. Arcentales teaches elementary school in the Bronx.
