GARDNER, CHARLES J

A small family gathering and remembrance will be held this spring for Charles J. Gardner, 91. He grew up in North Bergen. He retired in 1986 as purchasing manager from Arrow Fastener Company, Inc. Prior to that he was an executive of David Kahn Inc. Mr. Gardner is survived by his wife Mildred, to whom he was married for 57 years. Charles is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Roger Seccia, of Wantage; as well as by his son Malcolm Gardner, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and by his granddaughters, Megan Osborne and Alexandra Gardner. Charles was also a faithful brother to Malcolm T. Gardner (predeceased) of Saddle River; and was a close cousin to John and Charles Daglian of Bloomfield. He will be fondly remembered by many neighbors and friends from over the years, and also missed by his steadfast house aide, Jasia. Mr. Gardner was a decorated veteran of World War II. He achieved the rank of Technical Sergeant (T-SGT) and served in the Signal Corps in Okinawa, and Korea. After the war he graduated from Rutgers University and was a longtime member of the Rutgers Alumni Association. Charles was also a member of Mystic Tie Lodge 35 of WNY and Secaucus, as well as having been a member of the Scottish Rite and the Shrine. Services arranged by William G.
