Suspect in stuffing WNY man in trunk killed in shootout; alleged murderer in different case gets $1M bail

WEST NEW YORK AND BEYOND — A man who was sought for allegedly stuffing a Columbia University worker and West New York resident in the victim’s BWM in New York City was killed this weekend in a shootout with U.S. marshals in Florida, the New York Post reported.
The Post said that Barion Blake was killed in Jacksonville. He had served prison time in connection with two BMW thefts.
The shootout began after police and marshals approached an apartment where Blake was staying. He tried to jump off a balcony and had a gun, the Post reported.
His West New York victim, Akeem Ajimotokan, is recovering after his ear was nearly severed and he was left in his own car last month. He had advertised the car for sale on the internet.
Meanwhile, bail was set Friday at $1 million for another man who is wanted in connection with the shooting death of Spencer Hernandez of West New York last October, according to NJ.com.
