HOBOKEN – The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed on Monday morning that an alleged rape investigation is currently underway in Hoboken, stemming from a police report on the day of the St. Patrick’s Parade festivities.
On Saturday afternoon, a 23-year-old woman reported she was “taken to a location and raped,” according to First Assistant Prosecutor Debbie Simon, and the matter is still under investigation. Simon said the prosecutor’s office will interview witnesses and ascertain if there were videos in the area.
Simon also said this morning that a separate alleged rape was reported “late Friday night into the early morning hours on Saturday [March 5],” but the victim does not wish to pursue charges, and just wanted to have medical tests run. – Ray Smith
