A funeral service was held Feb. 25 at Christ the King Church, Jersey City, for Lytton “Joseph” Davis Jr. He died Feb. 19 at Jersey City Medical Center. Mr. Davis was born in Jersey City. Mr. Davis graduated from Snyder High School in 1966 and later served in the United States Army National Guard. He worked for New York Stock Exchange, Citibank, Academy Bus Company and recently as an employee of Hudson County. Mr. Davis was a longtime member of Christ the King Church and served in their choir for many years. He had a great love of music and sang in many groups during the course of his life. Most recently he was a member of the Pastor Dennis Wiley and Faithful Singing Group which had the opportunity to perform in numerous places including Africa. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Edith Allen Davis of Jersey City; brother, Dr. Lansing James Davis and sister-in-law, Mrs. Katherine Grant Davis of Newtown, Pa.; two nieces, Mrs. Jihan Davis Minson of Hampton, Va., and Ms. Tia Halley Davis, currently honorably serving in the United States Navy; and close friends, Mr. James Simmons and Ms. Yvonne Little of Jersey City; and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Lytton Joseph Davis of Jersey City; his uncle, Mr. Emeral Allen of Jersey City; and his daughter, Kimberly Nicole Davis of Jersey City.
