HOBOKEN — Hoboken residents and First Street bartenders Janine Loffredo and Tommy O’Melia are engaged, and now they’ve entered the Ultimate Wedding Contest from Crate & Barrel.
O’Melia is a teacher, coach, and has been a bartender at Mulligans for the past four years, and Loffredo works in sports marketing, as well as being a bartender at Village Pourhouse (and formerly Odonoghues) for the last five and a half years. They’re known as “the First Street couple.”

“We met bartending in Hoboken at bars that were next door to one another,” Loffredo wrote on the contest site. “We were introduced by a mutual friend and both didn’t admit how much we liked one another. We both have two jobs and very busy schedules and just want to be able to just spend time with each other. After almost four years of dating Tommy proposed to me on Christmas Eve in front of my first job in my hometown, [at] a pizzeria. We are so excited to get married, but are paying for it ourselves and can use all the help we can get!”
Loffredo is a graduate of Kean University, and O’Melia is an alumnus of Montclair State University.
Loffredo notes that the winners of the contest often have more than 1,000 votes, so go vote, Hoboken!
