SCALA, EDWARD T

A mass of Christian burial took place Feb. 23 at the Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven, for Edward T. Scala, 94, of Red Bank. He died Feb. 18 at home, surrounded by his family. Born in Jersey City, he lived there prior to moving to Red Bank in 1985. Edward retired in 1981 after 31 years as Superintendant of Buildings for the City of Jersey City. He was a communicant of the Church of the Nativity in Fair Haven. Edward was predeceased by his wife Mary Elizabeth Lonke Scala and his son Arthur Brian Bradford. He is survived by tewo sons, John Bruce and his wife Adelaide Bradford of North Carolina, and Edward J. Scala of West Orange; four daughters, Brenda S. Blot of New York, Judith and her husband George Boder of Red Bank, Linda and her husband Charles Menut of Red Bank, and Diane and her husband Anthony Holm of Middletown; nine grandchildren, Arthur Brian’s children, Brian, Terence and Daniel Bradford, John Bruce’s children John and Eve, Edward’s daughter, Lauren; Brenda’s daughter, Madeleine and Diane’s children, Anthony and Mary Lucia, and eight great grandchildren. Services arranged by the Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.
