West New York Mayor Sal Vega, in response to a recent campaign mailing put out by West New York mayoral aspirant Dr. Felix Roque regarding his earnings, has rebutted with a letter to Roque calling on him to release both his personal and corporate tax returns for the past five years.
Roque had alleged in a mailing that Vega was “burning through” residents’ tax dollars and getting rich by taking two salaries. In his rebuttal letter, Vega states that his only significant sources of income derive from his full-time salary as athletic director at Memorial High School and his part-time salary as mayor.
“In the spirit of transparency [Mayor Vega] is calling on his opponent to make a complete financial disclosure,” the Vega team said in a press release today.
