For the second year, two groups of Daisies from the Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey District visited seniors at the Hoboken Housing Authority over the holidays. The kindergarten and first grade girls spent time at both Fox Hill Gardens and Monroe Gardens. The Daisies served cookies, hot chocolate, coffee and eggnog. The Scouts then sang carols for the seniors and even accompanied some of their elders on a few of the songs.
“It was the perfect way to put everyone in the holiday spirit,” said Troop Leader Cathy Tennaro.
The girls were each treated to a candy cane for their hard work.
“The Daisies did a beautiful job and truly put a smile on our seniors’ faces. We’d love to see them again,” said Hoboken Housing Authority Executive Director Carmelo Garcia. “Our senior residents love to share their experiences and both groups can learn a lot from each other.”
