CANDILORO, THOMAS J

A mass of Christian burial was performed March 19 at St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport, for Thomas J. Candiloro, 85. He passed away March 16 at the New Jersey Firemen’s Home, Boonton. Born in Jersey City, he resided there before moving to Aberdeen in 1975.
Thomas worked for the Jersey City Fire Department for 31 years. He was promoted to Fire Captain in 1972, retiring from the department in July 1982. He received a commendation for fire rescue in 1972. He was a member of the IAFF Local 1064, the FMBA Local 500, the Jersey City Exempt Firemen’s Association and life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He served his country in the Navy during World War II. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents, Carmelo and Angelina Marchica Candiloro; his children, Thomas and Linda; and his siblings, Charles Candiloro, Charlie Imbernone, Bessie Stepkasoski, Lucy Civele and Frank Candiloro. He is survived by his wife, Marcella Wojciechowski Candiloro; a sister-in-law, Angie Candiloro of Belleville; his nieces and nephews, Marianne and Paul Candiloro of Freehold; Bobby and Sue Candiloro of Florida; and Ray and Marylou Candiloro of Elizabeth; his angels, Sean, Thomas and Kayla; and his great-nieces and nephews, Marisa, Michelle and Bobby. Services arranged by the Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
