North Bergen recycling company pleads guilty

NORTH BERGEN AND BEYOND – Eagle Recycling, of North Bergen, pleaded guilty today in federal court, reportedly admitting to illegally dumping pulverized construction and demolition materials on a farmer’s property in upstate New York, according to published reports.
By pleading guilty to one count of criminal felony, the company agreed to pay a $500,000 fine and implement an environmental compliance plan at its facility.
The company has been forced to pay up fines in the past; including a $71,600 one demanded by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration for workplace safety and health hazards. – Tricia Tirella
