Jemenez to run for Assembly on Sacco ticket

HUDSON COUNTY — The vice president of the West New York Board of Education, Angelica Maria Jimenez, will hold a press conference tomorrow to announce that she is joining Senator Nicholas J. Sacco’s legislative team in the 32nd District.
Jimenez will be one of the two assemblypeople that represent each district along with a state senator. The boundaries of the 32nd District changed this week to include West New York.
The primary election will be held June 7, with the general election in November.
A West New York resident since she was 5 years old, Angelica is a state licensed radiology technician employed by a private firm in Jersey City, a founding member (and vice president) of the WNY Women’s Club and an elected member of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee. She is married and has two children.
“Angelica is a dynamic, vibrant Latina woman, a working mom, and someone who has demonstrated a real commitment to public service,” says Senator Sacco. “I am very pleased to welcome her to our legislative team.”
Senator Sacco and Assemblyman Vincent Prieto both interviewed Mrs. Jimenez earlier this week after West New York Mayor Sal Vega recommended her. She is a very strong supporter of Mayor Vega’s administration. The state legislators and a number of other elected officials are expected to attend the press conference.
The press conference is Thursday, April 7, 4:30 PM at the Marinero Grill, 761 Farragut Place in WNY (located just off River Road).
