Carmelo Garcia would like your vote

Dear Editor:
I write to you as a proud parent, proponent and product of our public schools. I’m seeking re-election to continue the movement of the whole child approach. I’ve had a wonderful track record, as these are few examples in improving student achievement with the implementation of college preparatory courses and project read 180, sponsor programming like the family friend center, school based youth services, advocating for an updated special education manual, technology that is web-based for distance learning or for parents to interact better with the teacher. A plan to reduce per pupil cost, expand and preserve the early childhood program. Advocated for the first establishment in Hudson County of a dual language immersion school. I want to make sure that Connors School gets renovated and that all schools become sustainable. The need for a parent’s toolkit which I’ve been asking for two years.
I wholeheartedly believe in teamwork that’s productive, progressive and purposeful. In all my years as a coach for basketball and recently soccer I’ve always fostered a healthy learning environment, educational excellence, leadership that is effective and parental involvement to provide for great social interaction. I’ve also produced a scholarship for high school students.
I am asking for your vote on April 27th for my team 1a Carmelo – 6a Fran RhodesKearns – 8a Peter Biancamano, as we run for representation, reform resources and results. If you’d like to visit my full resume or platform please visit reelectcarmeloforbaordofed on facebook.
