A funeral mass was held April 15 at St. Joseph’s RC Church, Hoboken, for Peter S. Romano, 83. He passed away April 12 at the Hoboken University Medical Center, Hoboken. Born in Hoboken, Peter was a lifelong resident of Hoboken. He worked for the City of Hoboken as a Board of Health Inspector for many years. He was the husband of Catherine (nee McGovern); father of Lois Gullo and her husband John, Lynne Gullo and her husband Frank, Peter, Ricky and his wife Sarah, and the late Deborah; brother of former Hoboken Councilman Anthony H. Romano, John “Honey” Romano, Janet Sinisi and the late Jack Romano and the late Edith Aste; grandfather of nine; great-grandfather of 10 and one great-great-grandchild; and also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Peter was a member of Teamsters Local 560 and an avid softball player. Services arranged by the Lawton-Turso Funeral Home, Hoboken.
