Dear Editor:
Thank you Hoboken fire Dept. Capt. Richey Blohm on the advance salute to Memorial Day.
Certainly our fire & police depts. have always promoted patriotism with marching contingent and fine looking color guards.
As a rule of thumb, the proper position of the flags union/stars.
Two things to remember – your heart should always be facing the flags stars, whether the flag hangs vertical or horizontal.
(Most of us have our hearts on our left side) Therefore as you face the flag – your heart is always facing the stars.
As when a veteran is buried – The American Flag is draped over his casket with the star field located over his heart.
Remember “heart and stars”.
And remember all vets this Memorial Day, not many left, and say thank you.
Welcome to our new Walgreen store at the Washington St. Bank with that great flag pole on the roof.
Would be nice to see “Old Glory” over upcoming holidays.
