A Taste of Weehawken was a resounding success

Dear Editor:
On behalf of the Weehawken Free Public Library and Media Center along with the Board of Trustees, we would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to everyone involved in making this year’s A Taste of Weehawken such a resounding success.
As always, our community came together in our support of our Library to make this one of our most successful events ever; this year, we welcomed a record-breaking number of participants and hundreds of guests to the Taste!
In particular we would like to thank Allied Beverage Group, Amanda’s, Antonia’s by the Park, Ben & Jerry’s, Bertolotti Desserts, Carlo’s Bakery, Charrito’s Restaurant, Chart House Restaurant, The Clinton Social, Flaming Burrito, G.P.’s, Houlihan’s on the Waterfront, Lepore’s Home Made Chocolates, Lorraine’s Table, The Madison Bar and Grill, Masina Trattoria, The Melting Pot, Paula’s Restaurant, Porto Leggero, Ricky Ricks Bistro, Rita’s Italian Ice, Robongi Japan, Rosa de Saron Florist, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Son Cubano Restaurant and Bar, Starbucks, Tomaso’s, and Touch of Spice. We also want to thank Giannone Wine & Liquor Co. for the exceptional wine tasting they brought to this year’s Taste, our fine chefs-in-training from Weehawken High School, Anna Yglesias for creating our signature Taste artwork, The Hudson Reporter for their continued advertising support, as well as the countless individuals and businesses who donated services, supplies and many, many hours to help made the evening such a success.
The Taste is a vital source of funding for the Weehawken Library. And once again, as a result of a continuing statewide budget crisis and the distressing news about the closing of many other libraries, that funding is especially critical for the future of our library. Funds raised through this year’s Taste will help sustain library programming – especially those for our children such as Circle Time, Story Time, and the Summer Reading Programs. In the past, Taste funds have helped underwrite such library activities such as NJ Aquarium Program, Poetry and Musical programming and author presentations and signings as well as the purchase of an American Museum of Natural History Family Pass for use by Weehawken residents.
Your continued support of these programs has contributed to making our Weehawken Free Public Library and Media Center among the best in the state. We look forward to everyone’s continued support and welcoming you all back next year for our 12th Annual A Taste of Weehawken.

Sincerely,
Richard F. Turner
