Dear Editor:
I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all the residents of the 1st Ward.
It has been a long, tough campaign, but to feel the vindication of so many votes, from across the ward, just makes me feel so grateful and humbled, it’s difficult to put into words.
We ran a very positive campaign that highlighted our accomplishments and addressed the important issues facing the 1st Ward. As we go forward, I know that having your strong support will be of great comfort to me and will motivate me to continue to serve as an independent voice on the city council.
In the very near future, we will begin the process of public hearings on the upcoming NJ Transit redevelopment plan, which will have a major impact on our ward. We will also be finalizing our municipal budget, which I hope will return a portion of the budget surplus to taxpayers. I know my city council colleagues want to see the same thing, so I look forward to working with them on this final leg of the process.
As we move forward I want to make sure that the progress we have fought so hard to bring to our great city continues. I am proud to have served as a member of the city council and appreciate your votes of confidence.
As always, I am available to you every day at my shop at 207 Washington Street, and feel free to call me if I can be of any assistance at (201) 656-9449.
My deepest thanks,
Councilwoman Theresa Castellano
