Child advocacy group holds session for volunteers
Hudson County Court Appointed Special Advocates for children will hold their next information session regarding the program and the role of its volunteers on Tuesday, June 7, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Room 400 of the Hudson County Administration Building, located at 595 Newark Ave. in Jersey City.
The group of volunteers helps advocate for local children in the foster care system.
Parking is available in the lot behind the Administration Building on Pavonia Avenue. This “Employee Parking Only” lot is available to HCCASA volunteers after 5 p.m. Please enter the Administration Building using the side entrance off Central Avenue.

Union City to hold ‘mobile City Hall’

Mayor Brian Stack will be visiting the Old Municipal Library at 420 15th Street in Union City Tuesday, May 17 from 1 to 4 p.m.
This is a “mobile City Hall” meeting to hear local residents’ concerns. Stack tries to hold at least one such meeting each week in different neighborhoods.
Constituents are encouraged to come and speak to the mayor about any concerns or local issues of interest.

Nature walk Tuesday in Meadowlands

The Meadowlands Environment Commission and the Bergen County Audobon Society will conduct a free two-hour guided nature walk Tuesday, May 17 at 10 a.m. The walk will take place around the square-mile-park, looking for shorebirds, waterfowl and spring migrants.
