Report: Katia Stack pays back Union City for gasoline

UNION CITY AND BEYOND — A newspaper story today says that Katia Stack, who is Union City Mayor and state Sen. Brian Stack’s ex-wife, has paid back almost $750 for using a city vehicle and city gas while not working for the city.

Last year, a “Shame on You” segment on FOX news followed Katia, who is the director of Union City’s day care program. The segment reported that Katia was unfairly using city gas for personal and work errands.

According to a story on NJ.com today: “Katia Stack … paid $749.65 [in April], city spokesman Mark Albiez said, to cover the cost of the insurance and the gas that she got from the pump at the DPW garage. Albiez said she used the city SUV for her personal use from May 2010 to this past January.”

Mayor Stack said at the time that he was unaware of his ex-wife’s use of the car and gas, and he said he was “disgusted” by it.
