SECAUCUS AND BEYOND — As the trial of former Secaucus Mayor Dennis Elwell began Monday morning (see updates below on hudsonreporter.com), Solomon Dwek, the government informant who brought down so many New Jersey politicians in the 2009 FBI sting, was not there because he was charged with failure to return a rental car in Maryland, according to NJ.com.
A warrant was apparently issued in Maryland on May 31 for Dwek’s arrest.
As a results, the prosecution wanted to begin with testimony from Elwell associate Ronald Manzo.
