A funeral was held June 23 at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, North Bergen, for Robert M. Smith, 85. He passed away June 16 at the Center for Hope Hospice, Scotch Plains. He was born in New York City. Robert was a retired Assistant Post Master from the North Bergen Post Office, North Bergen, NJ for 39 years. He retired in 1986. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a former Trustee of Our Lady of Fatima RC Church in North Bergen, American Legion Post 33, Holy Name Society Our Lady of Fatima, National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 38, National Association of Federal Retired Employees Branch 501. Surviving him is his wife Eileen Logan. He was the father of Brigadier General Michael Smith-Randolf and his wife Bernadine of Randolph; Gerard of Cliffside Park; and Amanda, Holly, Christopher, Dylan Mary Brigid Liebau and John Lagreca of Greenbrook. He was grandfather of Michael, Jennifer, Brian, Robert, Corinne, Daniel, Amanda, Holly, Christopher, and Dylan. Services arranged by the Leber Funeral Home, Union City.
