Fireworks will explode over Hudson River on July 4

HUDSON COUNTY – For those who want to watch, some of the Hudson County, New Jersey waterfront will become a prime viewing spot for the Macy’s fireworks this July 4.
According to a press release, the 35th Annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks will celebrate Independence Day and the 125th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty. They will be set off from six barges positioned on the Hudson River, stretching from 20th to 55th streets in Manhattan. The event begins at 9 p.m. and will be shown on NBC.
Local residents often line up along the Hudson County waterfront to view the show.
In the past, Jersey City has also had a fireworks show, but has canceled it for the past few years because of budget issues.
It is likely that Hoboken, Weehawken, and upper Jersey City will have the best views.
See this weekend’s Hudson Reporter newspapers for a story on the best places to go to see fireworks, or come back here to www.hudsonreporter.com starting Sunday.
