A funeral mass was performed July 20 at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hoboken, for Ellen V. McGuire, 96, formerly of Hoboken. She passed away July 16 at the Regency Grande Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dover, N.J. Born in Weehawken to the late James M. and Julia (Ball) Sullivan, she was raised in Hoboken and lived there most of her life. She was a resident of the Job Haines Home in Bloomfield from 2001 to 2008 and then of the Regency Grande. She was to have attended Sacred Heart Academy in Hoboken. She began her many years of employment at St. Mary’s Hospital, Hoboken, in the record room. She then worked as a secretary for the Pappas Law Firm in Hoboken and lastly as an executive secretary for International Paper in New York City. She was a supportive parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Church, Hoboken, for over 60 years. She was predeceased by her husband John J. McGuire; siblings, Elizabeth M. Bell – wife of Nicholas, Kathleen J. McBride – wife Joseph T., James J., John F., and A. Francis Sullivan. Mrs. McGuire was the special sister-in- law of Peggy Sullivan – wife of James J., Joseph McGuire and his wife Terry, and of the late Mary McGuire, Fr. Francis McGuire, Hugh A. and Rose McGuire and Andrew and Georgiana McGuire. She is also survived by three generations of nieces and nephews. Services arranged by the Earl F.
