A memorial service has been held for Elliot F. Wolbert, 88, formerly of Jersey City. He passed away at Morristown Memorial Hospital on June 6. Born and raised in Jersey City, Elliot was drafted into the Army in 1943. He served in the European Theatre and was severely wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. After returning home he worked briefly in the trucking industry before returning to the Veterans Hospital in Lyons, NJ. where he spent the rest of his years. Elliot was the son of the late Howard L. and Helen (nee Stouffar) Wolbert. He was the brother of the late Howard L. Jr. Surviving are his nieces Janet Krudop and Linda Ruland, nephews James and Howard Wolbert. Elliot was a true hero who fought valiantly for his country.
