Funeral mass was held Aug. 1 at St. Francis R.C. Church in Hoboken for Eugene Syracuse, 84, a lifelong Hoboken resident. He passed away at Hoboken University Medical Center on July 28. A retired employee for Johanna Western Mills Co. in Hoboken for more than 30 years, he was a member of the Hoboken Pigeon Club. Mr. Syracuse is survived by two daughters: Gina and Jeanine Syracuse; a sister, Rose Gottilla; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers: Walter, Michael, Albert, and Joseph Syracuse; and two sisters: Anna and Jennie. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
