‘Alice was a person, not a patient number’

To the Editor:
It seems the “in” thing to do is trash Bayonne Medical Center. Almost everyone you speak to, especially ex-Bayonneites, say, “Oh no, not Bayonne hospital!” Well, we disagree. Our aunt Alice recently spent 19 days in Bayonne Medical Center. The care she was given as far as we are concerned was unparallelled with the so called “best” hospitals.
At BMC, Aunt Alice was a person, not a patient number. Her doctors, Dr. Perveen and Dr. Moszcynski, treated her as though she were family. The RNs, LPNs, CPNs, the staff on 3R, ICU/CCU, Telemetry, and especially Transitional Care and 5R were invaluable. The OTs and PTs are unsurpassed in their professionalism and interaction with the patients.
Mary and Richie, we don’t know how to thank you enough! Maggie and her angels were God sent! Maggie, Josie, Lisa, Owanna – we never would have been able to care for Aunt Alice without you! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
We know we will forget to mention someone, so please forgive us. Doris, Audrey, Mario, Ro, Ana, Levi – thank you for making Aunt Alice, and us, feel so good during this difficult time.
Because of all of you, your dedication, your concern, and your professionalism, Aunt Alice is doing better every day.
