A funeral mass was offered Aug. 10 at St. Nicholas R.C. Church in Palisades for Josephine Spano, 98. She passed away Aug. 3. Josephine was born on in Hoboken. She was a retired seamstress for Star Coat Co. in Hoboken. She was also past president of the Mothers Guild at St. Francis Church in Hoboken, the first president of the P.T.A. at P.S. 9 Conners School in Hoboken and a parishioner of St. Nicholas R.C. Church in Palisades Park. She was the wife of the late Frank Spano; mother to Frank Jr. and his wife Gloria, Marianne Maarleveld and her husband John, Judith Scarpone and her husband James, Joseph and his wife Andrea and Stephen and his wife Georgia; sister to Helen Spada; grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
