Outpouring of support

To the Editor:
On behalf of our son, Dawid, and ourselves, we would like to express our sincerest gratitude to everyone who has rallied around Dawid after the brutal attack which almost cost him his life.
We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the many kind and caring people who are offering their heartfelt prayers for Dawid’s recovery and contributing their hard-earned money to help defray his medical expenses. All of you will forever remain in our prayers. We are buoyed by the knowledge that there are such people in our community.
We were unable to attend the first fund-raiser held for Dawid at the Polish American Home. We thank all the members of “Team Dawid,” including Steve Grau, Dan Sautkin, Allison Murphy, and Tiffany Lanza, who organized it, as well as the many businesses who cooperated with them and generously donated goods or services for it. Dawid has been blessed with many true friends; forgive us for not mentioning you all. “Team Dawid” has continued in efforts with a coin-toss and a second benefit at the Elks Lodge. Its dedication to Dawid’s cause is most admirable and greatly appreciated, as is the popular response to its efforts.
As might well be imagined, we are grief-stricken over the grievous injury inflicted on our son, and horrified that such a brutal assault could take place in Bayonne. Our biggest concern has been, and continues to be, doing everything we can to ensure Dawid’s successful recovery. We would not wish his pain and our suffering on anyone.
Yet we are also concerned that all of Dawid’s assailants be apprehended and properly punished. We would not want to see any of them evade justice and be able to terrorize new victims. We believe that the good people of Bayonne would agree.
Again, thank you.
