Free all-day folk music concert

The Hudson Riverfront Performing Arts Center presents is presenting a day-long Sunday Festival on the Weehawken Waterfront. It will be on Sept. 18 starting at 2 pm at Lincoln Harbor Park. The festival will give fans of folk music the opportunity to enjoy over five hours of music.
The performance schedule of the Festival is as follows:
2 p.m. Jane Kelly Williams
3 p.m. Vance Gilbert
4 p.m. Julian Peterson and Hudson Crossing
5 p.m. Eugene Ruffolo
6:30 p.m. Susan Werner.

Guided canoe tour

New Jersey Meadowlands Commission (NJMC) will lead a guided three-hour canoe tour Saturday Sept. 17 at 8:30 a.m. The tour departs from Saw Mill Creek Wildlife Management Area in Lyndhurst. The trip is led by an experienced NJMC guide and offers the chance to see amazing diversity in vegetation and wildlife. Guides will introduce the basics of salt marsh ecology, point out birds and other wildlife, and discuss the area’s history as participants enjoy the magnificent scenery on a leisurely journey. The NJMC provides all equipment. The tour is for ages 10 and up and costs $15. Registration required; space is limited. To register or for directions to the departure point call (201) 460-4640.
