Free suggestions, help from lawyers on ‘day of service’

The Hudson County Bar Association and Foundation, in conjunction with several state and county bar associations, will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks with a day of service.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 12 within the Justice William J. Brennan, Jr. Courthouse at 583 Newark Ave., Jersey City. Then, educational programs will also be offered at 5 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. within the courthouse. Topics include social security, foreclosure, expungement of a criminal record, municipal courts, landlord/tenant issues, immigration, family issues, and bankruptcy. All events are open to the public.

Former world champion to host first ‘Global Boxing Series’ in North Bergen

The first installment of a “Global Boxing Series” will be headlined in North Bergen by former world champion O’Neil Bell in a 10-round bout against an opponent to be named later.
The card, which will also include North Bergen’s unbeaten featherweight prospect Kamil Laszczyk, will take place Saturday, Sept. 24 in the Global Boxing Arena at 5601-5711 Tonnelle Ave.
The show begins at 5 p.m. Tickets are priced at $50 for ringside and $35 for general admission and can be purchased at Global Boxing Gym.

North Bergen Library fall programming registration

Registration for fall programming at the North Bergen Library will begin Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 9 a.m. Programs are open to North Bergen and Guttenberg residents from ages 2.5 to adult. A copy of a birth certificate and a proof of residency are required for enrollment. Registration must be in person.
